MERN Stack Developer

The Role

BearPlex is an engineering studio headquartered in Lahore. We build production software for clients in the US, UK, and the Gulf, and we build our own products, including PeoplePlus, our client-delivery and HR platform.

This is a MERN role for an engineer who already builds with AI. At BearPlex, tools like Claude Code are not a side experiment; they are how we ship every day. You will plan features with an AI agent, delegate the mechanical work to it, review everything it produces, and stay accountable for what reaches production. If you have around 4 to 5 years of MERN experience and you have felt your output multiply when you pair with a model, this role was written for you.

What You Will Do

• Ship full-stack features. Build across MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js, owning each feature from schema and API contract through the deployed UI.

• Build AI-first. Drive Claude Code or similar agents through your daily work: plan with the model, hand it the mechanical parts, and keep refining your prompts and workflows.

• Own the backend. Design clean REST APIs, model data well, and handle auth, caching, background jobs, and performance without waiting for someone else.

• Handle your own deploys. Work with Docker, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud deploys, and read the logs when something breaks in production.

• Review with judgment. AI writes code fast. Your job is making sure what merges is correct, secure, and maintainable.

What We Are Looking For

• 4 to 5 years of MERN experience. You have built and operated real production applications on MongoDB, Express, React, and Node.js.

• Genuine AI-tool fluency. You use Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, or similar tools in your actual daily work, and you can tell good model output from plausible garbage.

• Backend depth. You are comfortable with API design, data modeling, authentication, and the performance questions that come with real traffic.

• DevOps working knowledge. Docker, CI/CD, and at least one cloud provider are familiar ground, and you can debug a production issue end to end.

• Based in Lahore. This role works on-site from our Lahore office.

• No degree required. We care about what you have shipped, not where you studied.

Nice to Have

• TypeScript and Next.js. Production experience with typed codebases and modern React frameworks.

• Postgres and Supabase. Exposure beyond Mongo, especially relational modeling and row-level security.

• LLM features in production. You have wired agents, RAG, or tool use into a real product, not just a demo.
